It is common when an alter splits off for them to have very pronounced traits. The exaggeration of these traits is usually what allows the person to survive whatever situation they’ve been put into. However, it is also common for these traits to become less extreme as they continue to go through life after the event of their split.
I think the reason we slowly lose some of the potency of our most outstanding traits is because we were born as archetypes, but become people. We begin to accumulate our own experiences, relationships, and feelings entirely separate from the moment that brought us into the world.
Developing as a person and perhaps mellowing a bit is not a sign of someone being “fake”.
In fact, it is the very thing that makes us real.
